Earpers, rejoice! After more than its fair share of hurdles both on and off screen, Wynonna Earp is heading back to SYFY to take care of unfinished business in the back half of Season 4, and today SYFY released a brand-new teaser that sneaks a peek at never-before-seen footage from the season’s final episodes.
With the mid-season finale set to close out the season’s first six installments this Sunday (tune in at 10 p.m. ET/PT), production on Wynonna Earp recently resumed in Canada. Picking up after a four-month hiatus, the cast and crew has reconvened after a brief March break turned into a far longer precautionary shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Take a peep at what’s in store for the rest of Season 4 below:
There’s definitely gonna be some fallout when the show returns. Following the shocking “Haught” twist of last week’s episode, the gang must race to save one of their own — if, that is, they can overcome the resistance thrown at them by unseen forces. Doc, meanwhile, forges an unexpected new alliance, and Wynonna herself is faced with a big choice.
Featuring the tales of Wyatt Earp’s great granddaughter, Wynonna Earp tracks our hero as she takes on demonic revenant forces too stubborn to stay buried — decades after her legendary ancestor put their human predecessors in their place. Be sure to follow SYFY WIRE’s very own week-by-week podcast to stay up to date, and then buckle down as we wait for the conclusion of Season 4, which is slated to return at SYFY next year.
Described by Deadline as “one of Apple’s most ambitious original series to date,” the character-driven drama follows how people across the world respond when an alien civilization invades Earth. The show reportedly will be shot on four continents, with production set for New York, the United Kingdom, Morocco, and Japan.
Starring Jurassic Park’s Sam Neill, Invasion reportedly puts the erstwhile paleontologist at the center of the action as John Bell Tyson, a seen-it-all sheriff who’s nearing his retirement just as the aliens arrive. Also starring are Shamier Anderson (Awake, Wynonna Earp) as an “extraordinary” soldier named Trevante Ward stationed in Afghanistan; Golshifteh Farahani (Extraction) as Aneesha Malik, a first-generation immigrant from Syria who’s raising a family in Long Island with Firas Nassar (Fauda) as her husband Ahmed Malik; and Shioli Kutsuna (Deadpool 2, The Outsider) as Mitsuki, a mission control member of Japan’s national space program.
Written and executive produced by Kinberg and Weil, along with Platform One’s Audrey Chon and Amy Kaufman, the series reportedly will be helmed by The Alienist director Jakob Verbruggen, who’s also directed episodes for both Black Mirror and The Twilight Zone. Verbruggen will also executive produce.
There’s no early word on when Invasion will overtake Apple TV+.
For a couple of Sam Dimas slackers, Bill & Ted aren’t exactly lacking in the ambition department. When they’re not, y’know, saving the world, they’re setting world records — with a little help from some most excellent fans.
Answering the burning question we all should have been asking, Orion Pictures recently teamed up with a legion of Wyld Stallyns rockers to set a righteous Bill & Ted-themed Guinness World Record for the “Most People Playing Air Guitar Online Simultaneously.” The virtual jam session brought 186 participants from more than 20 countries together on Aug. 24, with support from the Air Guitar World Championships (yes, that is a thing), as part of the AGWC’s #MakeAirNotWar initiative.
Check out the tubular triumph here:
There was a little more to this bodacious accomplishment than having everyone log on just to air jam at the same time. Bringing in a little skill-based challenge that no Guitar Hero fan would be ashamed of, everyone had to successfully play air guitar for 90 seconds, using 3 “distinct air guitar moves” in order to beat the previous record.
Of course it’s all in the name of generating excellent enthusiasm for the impending arrival of Bill & Ted Face the Music, which raises the stakes for the all grown-up third movie featuring William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan (Keanu Reeves). Still best friends in adulthood, the dynamic duo embark on a new adventure to find the song that can bring harmony to the universe, only this time with some help from their daughters (Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine).
Also starring Kristen Schaal, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Holland Taylor, Kid Cudi, Anthony Carrigan, Jillian Bell, Beck Bennett, William Sadler, Hal Landon Jr., and Amy Stoch. Bill & Ted Face the Music premieres in theaters and on demand Aug. 28.
