Before The Mandalorian came rampaging across our screens with a new mysterious helmeted hero to root for, there was another. Before the Mando got his groove on, Star Wars fans followed another Mando for years — Sabine Wren on Star Wars Rebels.
Tiya Sircar played the mysterious rebel, who we got to know over the course of four seasons. The repercussions of events that Sabine was directly involved in are still being felt — look no further than Moff Gideon showing up with the Darksaber at the end of The Mandalorian Season 1. Rebels may have begun with a focus on the journey of Ezra Bridger, but as it progressed, it became the journey of both Ezra and Sabine. Look no further than the series finale for proof.
Our heroes over on Jabba the Pod recently caught up with Sircar to discuss the legacy of Sabine, current events in Mando culture, and the always necessary “so are you gonna be in The Mandalorian?” question. Sircar is also known for her highly memorable turn on The Good Place, the new Quibi series The Fugitive, and so much more… but our hearts will always beat for Sabine of Clan Wren.
